Post subject:  Arranging resistance soldering station

Help! My P-B-L station showed up today but I have no instructions.

I am a raw rookie when it comes to this type of soldering, and before I burn up a unit I want to double-check with this group.

How do I attach the tweezers? Does one lead go to the negative post and one to the positive on the front of the unit?

My guess is the pen is attached to the positive post, while the other line (with a clamp if needed) is attached to the negative post.

Photos of the station as set up in each mode would be awesome.

Sorry, but I am in need of sage advice.

Since resistance soldering is operating on a.c., it doesn't make any difference where you hook up the leads. At least that is true for my American Beauty unit. Suggest you start out a a low setting and work up from there. I normally solder in the 50% range.

Check www.P-M-L.com they have a link where you can request information.

Still trying to find time to take some pics. of my setup.
